British Properties has long supported and sponsored arts, culture and recreational events and activities in West Vancouver. At festivals of film, arts, lights—and even pumpkins!—along with fundraising bike and road races for charity and much much more, we stand together with our community to create a better region.
Rotary Ride for Rescue
The 14th Annual Cypress Climb raised funds for North Shore Rescue, Marine Rescue and Rotary humanitarian projects and attracted both elite cycling teams and recreational cyclists of all ages. Riders cycled a 17km route up Cypress Bowl Road on Cypress Mountain, or took the 11.5 km offroad mountain trail. British Properties was a founding sponsor of the ride, and we look forward to participating again in 2026!
Cypress Challenge
BC Cancer Foundation Annual Capilano Volkswagen Cypress Challenge
The Challenge was established in 2008 to raise awareness and support for pancreatic cancer research and care at BC Cancer. It attracts some 30 teams and more than 600 riders to a 12-km climb up Cypress Mountain. British Properties is proud to have been an event sponsor from 2018 to 2024.
Paint on the Mountain
Our annual Plein Air Painting Competition (July 29 – July 30, 2025) and Exhibition (August 1 – 10, 2025), held in association with West Vancouver’s Harmony Arts Festival, invited 16 past winners to paint the tranquil, natural beauty of Lower Hollyburn Mountain. Winning artwork was selected by a panel of judges, and all artwork produced from the Competition was displayed at the Festival.
Canuck Place Classic and Contemporary Car Show
Canuck Place is a caring, innovative children’s hospice and community-based service that fully embraces the life of each child and family. British Properties is honoured to have supported this important cause by providing Cypress Village Pop-Up as a private venue for one of their signature events, a showing of classic and contemporary cars.
Cypress Village Speaker Series
The Cypress Village Speaker Series invited distinguished thinkers in urban planning, economics and even happiness to explore our community’s future as part of the Upper Lands planning process. Click on the links to watch Calvin Lai, Assistant Professor of Psychological and Brain Sciences; Richard Florida, a leading urbanist and global best-selling author; Charles Montgomery, award-winning Canadian writer and urbanist; and David Foot, world-renowned demographer, economist and best-selling author. We look forward to expanding this interdisciplinary series as Cypress Village’s evolution continues.
